The 12th edition of ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription was published earlier this year. During this FREE event the editors will highlight updates of the latest edition of this historic text.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Dr. Cemal Ozemek is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Professional Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a past president of the Clinical Exercise Physiology Association, Co-Editor of ACSM's Clinical Exercise Physiology 2nd edition textbook and the Senior Editor for ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription 12th edition.
Dr. Paul M. Gallo has been the director of Exercise Science and Wellness at CT State Norwalk since 2004 and Associate Adjunct Faculty at Teachers College Columbia University since 2011. He holds a doctoral degree in applied physiology from Teachers College Columbia University and is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Paul serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the ACSM’s Health and Fitness Journal and is an Associate Editor for the ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, 12th edition. He is a Past-President of the New England Chapter of the ACSM, where he was named the 2022 Honor Award Recipient. Paul has extensive experience designing assessment-based curriculum and is active in research focusing on movement economy and resistance training in both persons with Parkinson’s disease and older adults.
Dr. Amanda Bonikowske is a clinical exercise physiologist, Associate Professor of Medicine, Consultant in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Program Director for Cardiac Rehabilitation at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Jeffrey Christle, PhD, ACSM-CEP, is a clinical exercise physiologist in the division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University. A member of the Stanford Biomarker and Phenotyping Core Laboratory, he is also a member of the Stanford Center for Inherited Cardiovascular Disease, Stanford Sports Cardiology, and the Stanford Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Laboratory. Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Christle is an active member of a number of domestic, European, and international exercise science and sports medicine organizations. His extensive background is in the areas of cardiopulmonary exercise testing, preventive and therapeutic exercise training, and cardiovascular health, especially in the framework of clinical trials and advanced cardiac disease. An important focus of his research has involved the clinical applications of exercise testing and training, including the optimization of exercise programming for the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases, the physiological evaluation of cardiovascular adaptation to exercise, monitoring physiological response using wearable devices, and the influence of exercise on patients with severe cardiovascular disease.
