Creating a Ladder/Progression for CEP

Hi Sam,

Our manager just made one recently but we are currently waiting to hear back from compensation for each level. Basically there’s 4 tiers:

EP: Bachelors

CEP: Masters

Advanced CEP: Masters and certified with ACSM-CEP or AACVPR-CCRP

She’s currently adding a Lead CEP as the 4th tier so I’m not sure of the exact requirements for this title.

This all happened pretty quickly because we are opening a new site and it was very difficult to staff because of compensation. Fingers crossed comp comes back with good numbers for us.

Currently working in a Phase II program and I have been trying to brainstorm a ladder/progression program for our CEPs. CEPA put out an article about it not too long ago and it has been a topic of discussion for quite some time in our department, as I’m sure it has been elsewhere. HR shot down the last proposal 15+ years ago but I want to reintroduce it. Any thoughts, ideas and/or outlines would be greatly appreciated!
